Award winning movie actor Abraham Attah has stated emphatically that he doesn’t in anyway feel superior to the local movie actors in Ghana as presumed by some media reports.
According to him, Ghanaian actors and actresses are equally good and describes his ability to shoot in the Hollywood movie as a mere opportunity that came his way. He therefore calls on the public to disregard and desist from painting gloomy pictures that put him ahead of his seniors in the industry.Abraham Attah, the fifteen (15) years old Junior High School (JHS) One students of the Montessori School in Cape Coast, has come under the lime light after receiving the best lead actor in the debut movie “Beast of no Nation” at the International Spirits Awards.
Abraham Attah indicated that even though he is happy about his success and the recognition he has received, he is still humbled by the warmth reception Ghanaians have given him at his arrival.
Asked whether he would like to act in any local movie, he simply answered no, with reasons are that, local movies do not pay much amidst disrespect of actors towards producers, a situation he describes makes the local industry not attractive to him.
Abraham Attah stated that, he was no way affected by alleged rumors of some radio presenters in Ghana who are believed to have mocked his speech at the spirit awards.
According to him, he took it as a medium for those presenters to seek for attention. He admit his English had not been good until he joined the Montessori school in Cape Coast where proper attention was given to his grammar and therefore has no regret for his supposed weak speech.
Abraham Attah is the second of four siblings in his family. Contrary to speculations that he was a street boy, the young actor describes those rumours as false with no grounding. He stated that, he lived with both parent who collaboratively supported him when the opportunity came for him to feature in the movie.
