Davido, who is enjoying a place in the top-5 of Nigerian highest paid artistes, has spoken in one of the recent interviews about his love for showing his expensive purchases in social media.
Within the 2-month period the young singer’s fans could see many attributes of his luxurious life: from N5.6 million Rolex watches and high class cars to the incredible gold-plated headphones specially customized for the award-winning musician.
While some appreciated Davido sharing his pleasure out of getting cool things, the others criticized him for wasting money on toys instead of using it for the good of the society.
Speaking with Econmium magazine, Davido responded to the attacks:
“I don’t call it flaunting of wealth. It is my car, my money and it is even my page. You don’t have to follow me on instagram. You don’t have to follow me on social media. It would have being different if I was advertising all this on a billboard. I am not doing that.”
Meanwhile just several weeks ago the 21-year-old singer won the Best International Act award at the BET awards held in Los Angeles. According to Davido, he was very surprised to receive it adding what brilliant artistes were among the nominees.
