A few weeks ago the American rapper and business mogul Jay Z launched a streaming service called Tidal. With the rapid growth of the new company just over a month since it was born, the rapper sees the need to expand its frontiers. Therefore, he has just sent his cousin Briant ‘Bee-High’ Biggs to Nigeria to scout for new talent.
According to the Net, for Bee-High this is his second trip to Nigeria following his presence at the 2014 edition of the Social Media week. However, this time he came in company of Roc Nation act, Jay Electronica, on a mission to look for new talent for Jay’z Tidal.
Jay Z confirmed Tidal’s trip to Nigeria in a tweet that has gone viral.
My cousin just moved to Nigeria to discover new talent. Tidal is a global company.

Surprisingly, this news triggered very mixed reactions among Nigerians. People mostly reacted with irony and skepticism.

If you join Tidal, Jay Z’s cousin in Nigeria is going to personally call you and ask for your mother’s credit card information too.

People here aren’t even paying for Tidal with some of the biggest US artists on it. So what exactly is Jay Z looking for in Nigeria? Oil???

Jay-Z’s tweet about sending his cousin to Nigeria for #Tidal is so confusing to me.
