Tamale-based artiste Fancy Gadam, born Mujahid Ahmed Bello, has described as clueless, people who do not believe he deserves the prestigious ‘Artiste of the Year’ award.
In a recent interview with Joy News’ Doreen Avio, the fast-rising star confidently put himself up as the most eligible winner of the ultimate award at the annual Ghana Music Awards.
He believed his hard work had surpassed all, and was deserving of the award.
Some stakeholders of the industry, however, raised concerns over the ‘Total Cheat’ singer’s eligibility for the award.
Critics believe the Best New Artiste of the Year at this year’s awards, has not crossed the boundaries of Ghana and has been described as quite a ‘Local champion’.
However, Fancy Gadam, speaking in an interview on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, said, “looking at the effort I’ve put across this year, I strongly believe no artiste in Ghana has done it and I strongly believe I’m gonna win.”
Fancy Gadam thinks that his ability to fill up stadiums as well as the Bukom Boxing arena with fans for his performances is an indicator of hard work which should be recognised.
“I strongly believe that if a lot of people are following me, they’ll surely believe that Fancy deserves the Artiste of the Year, because he is doing a great job,” he responded to critics who doubt his eligibility.
