The ranking was published via a category called Local Heroes – The Most-Watched Homegrown Artists Across Africa.
The description for the category reads “From Afrobeats stars to the late king of coupé-décalé, the top five homegrown musical acts in 11 African countries based on a year of local YouTube views”.
A total of 5 artistes are ranked for each featured country, and for Ghana, Sarkodie (11.72million views), Stonebwoy (7.86million views), Diana Hamilton (6.42million views), and Kofi Kinaata (4.63million views) ranked second, third, fourth, and fifth respectively.
