Ghanaian movie star, John Dumelo, has urged critics of President John Dramani Mahama to get off his back and give him time to solve the challenges facing the country.
He was speaking to Accra based radio station, Starr FM, Wednesday.
Dumelo, who campaigned for President Mahama ahead of the 2012 elections, stressed that the President needs help and not criticism to solve the challenges in the country.
He said: “We should just give him [Mahama] time to solve the problems, the problems are there but it’s four years, Rome wasn’t built in a day… and if after 2016 the problems are not solved then we know what to do.
“But I think a lot of people are putting pressure on him and it’s not as if he doesn’t want to solve the problems, he does so we should just give him time”.
Dumelo went on to add that he lost several endorsements deals after campaigning for President Mahama in the run-up to the 2012 Elections.
“I actually lost some endorsements deals because I did something for the NDC. I don’t regret it at all,” he said.
